The other thing that makes a huge difference is breakfast. It’s Sunday tomorrow, there really is no excuse for skipping breakfast. Make time and enjoy some pancakes with your family, some wholegrain toast with almond butter or yogurt (plain) sweetened with fruit, honey and homemade granola are just a few ideas. Other ones are:

Fresh fruit or freshly-squeezed juice

Oatmeal: add hot milk, cinnamon and raisins OR unsweetened applesauce and honey

Whole grain cereal with organic milk and fresh chopped strawberries

Muesli (low sugar varieties) with honey and plain yogurt

Fruit smoothies: try 1 banana, ½ cup frozen berries, 1 cup milk or plain low fat organic yogurt, 1 tbsp almond butter blended together

Homemade muffins: freeze a batch so they are easy to grab on the way out of the house
