Despite all the progress mankind has supposedly achieved since 18th – 19th century (better health care, education, internet :), etc.) I cannot help but to miss one thing from the older era – women wearing beautiful, sewn to perfection dresses that incredibly complement one’s figure. I am sure many of you will now protest: that only a those born into the aristocratic or bourgeois circles could afford these, that these dresses were unpractical (certainly not suitable for today’s lifestyle), and that in those times women did not have an awful lot of rights and opportunities. Yes, that’s all true, yet I still wish somehow these dresses would not disappear from the everyday wear :). I would certainly not mind its impracticability (as an old saying goes – “beauty is pain”), though the cost might be a bit problematic, and I would love to wear it, if only I was more brave and less influenced by how other…
