Annoy-a-ball - Design Process


I had been playing around with the idea of using complicated, and kind of over the top textures. Safe to say this was more hard than it looked! Creating a repeating pattern from my own photography wasn’t too hard (a little magic with Photoshop required). I created, as an example, a stone texture, see below.


This texture seemed to look pretty neat when repeated, everything seemed to fit in to place perfectly, and looked awesome as a desktop wallpaper I might add. Anyway, I imported straight into Unity and applied it to an object I was playing around with, safe to say due to the nature of having a distorted 3d object it didn’t look too great, and frankly a bit overkill.
